How much does ceramic coating cost in Brampton?
At Puri Heritage: interior from $149, exterior from $299 — before HST. Coating makes your car dramatically easier to wash and protects the paint against Ontario road salt and UV. It won't stop rock chips — that's what paint protection film is for.
What you'll actually pay
| Package | Puri Heritage | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Interior coating | $149 | Fabric, leather and trim protection — spills and stains wipe off |
| Exterior coating | $299 | Full paint coating after wash, decon and machine-polish prep |
| Coating over PPF | quoted in store | Film takes the impacts, coating adds gloss and easy washing |
| Premium-brand coating | quoted in store | Upgrade tiers with longer warranties, quoted per vehicle |
Prices before 13% HST, and they move with vehicle size — a large SUV or truck has more paint than a sedan. Our starting prices use our standard coating with no warranty; premium film and coating brands are available as upgrades, quoted in store. Some GTA studios charge $1,000 or more for exterior work — the honest comparison is what prep is actually included, not just the headline number.
What's included in an exterior coating
A proper ceramic coating is 70% preparation. When we coat an exterior, the appointment runs: a full wash, chemical decontamination, clay-bar treatment to pull bonded contaminants out of the paint, and a machine-polish step to correct light swirling and haze. Only then does the coating go on, panel by panel, followed by a cure period. That prep is the difference between a coating that performs for years and one that peels in months — and it's the main reason a $1,000+ shop quote isn't necessarily a rip-off. Always ask what's under the coating, not just what's on top of it.
If your car already has heavy swirling or a dull finish, a full paint-correction detail before coating makes the result dramatically better. Coating locks in whatever's underneath — gloss or damage.
What changes the price
- Paint condition. A garage-kept car needs light prep; a daily driver with winter wash damage needs more machine-polish time. We price it honestly once we see the paint.
- Vehicle size. Coupes and sedans are the fastest; three-row SUVs and trucks use more product and more labour.
- Coating tier. Standard coating with no warranty vs premium brands with longer warranties, quoted in store.
- Coverage area. Exterior only, or add the interior package for fabric and leather protection too.
- Coating over film. If you already have (or are getting) PPF, coating the film and paint together is the premium combo — film stops chips, coating adds gloss and easy washing.
Why some shops charge $1,000 or more
Higher prices usually buy two things: more prep time (multi-stage paint correction instead of a single polish) and premium branded coatings with formal warranties and registered product codes. Neither is automatically better for your situation — a $299 exterior coating with solid prep is the right call for a daily driver, while a multi-day, multi-stage job makes sense for a collector car or a brand-new black vehicle that shows every swirl. The red flag isn't a high price; it's a high price with no explanation of the prep, and a low price with no prep at all.
Our take: get your price within the hour, and compare what's actually included. A coating is only as good as the surface it bonds to.
Ceramic coating vs PPF vs wax
These three get confused constantly. Ceramic coating is chemical protection — hydrophobic gloss and easy washing for years. PPF is physical protection — a film that takes rock chips and scuffs so the paint doesn't, from $599 partial front. Wax is cosmetic protection that lasts weeks to a few months. The popular setup for an Ontario daily driver is PPF on the front (where the 401 does its damage) and ceramic coating over everything — film stops the chips, coating makes the whole car easier to wash through salt season. Our full comparison: PPF vs ceramic coating.
How long it takes
Interior coating is typically a few hours. Exterior coating takes most of a day — the wash, decontamination, clay bar and machine-polish prep can't be rushed without compromising the result. Most weeks we can book same-week appointments at any of our three shops. See the full ceramic coating service or call 647-577-7300 for a same-day slot.
Frequently asked
How much does ceramic coating cost in Brampton?
At Puri Heritage: interior from $149, exterior from $299, before 13% HST. Premium brands and coating over PPF are quoted in store.
How long does ceramic coating last?
Years rather than months, depending on wash habits, mileage and whether the car is garaged. It isn't permanent and it doesn't replace washing — it makes washing much easier.
Does ceramic coating stop rock chips and scratches?
No, and be wary of anyone who says it does. It adds hardness and gloss but won't stop a stone chip or a key. For physical chip protection you need paint protection film.
Can you ceramic coat over paint protection film?
Yes — the popular combo. The film takes the impacts and the coating adds gloss and easy washing to both the film and the surrounding paint.
How long does the coating appointment take?
Interior coating is a few hours. Exterior coating takes most of a day because of the wash, decontamination and machine-polish prep before the coating goes on.
Is ceramic coating worth it in Ontario?
For a daily driver facing road salt, brake dust and harsh winter washes, yes — the hydrophobic layer means grime releases easily and salt doesn't bond to the paint the same way. It doesn't replace PPF for chip protection.
